TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1. Ulaanbaatar
Upon arrival in Mongolia’s capital city, Ulaanbaatar, you will be transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisure program of sightseeing around the city including Sukhbaatar square, Gandan Monastery and Zaisan Hill. Optional visit to Natural History Museum of Mongolia. Enjoy traditional art performance and Welcome dinner at restaurant. Overnight in hotel. (D)

Day 2. Baga Gazriin Chuluu (Earth stone)
Approximate distance covered and estimated travel time: 240 km, 5-6 hours.
Travel to Baga Gazriin Chuluu (Earth stone) little mountain of Middle Gobi. Excursion to Earth stone, a sacred rocky mountain, 1760m above sea level, and is famous for its unique rock formation and beautiful natural environment. Stay overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 3. Tsagaan Suvarga
Approximate distance covered and estimated travel time: 220 km, 5-6 hours.
Travel to Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa), a remarkable sand dune in the formation of a White Stupa and view 3,000–5,000-year-old rock hieroglyphs. Stay overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 4. Eagle Valley
Approximate distance covered and estimated travel time: 160 km, 4-5 hours.
Travel to Yolyn Am, or ‘Eagle Valley', located in the foothills of the Altai Mountains. The valley’s remnant streams create ice formations which you may find in the mouth of the valley as late as July. The mountains surrounding the valley also provide habitat for Argali wild sheep (one of the last wild great horned sheep) and ibex, which may be spotted in the early morning as they walk along the mountain ridges. Visit Gobi museum and trekking through the valley. Stay overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 5. Khongoryn Els Sand Dunes
Approximate distance covered and estimated travel time: 180 km, 4-5 hours
Travel to Khongor Sand Dunes, the Mongolia’s largest sand dunes, reaching heights of approximately 800 meters and known locally as the “Singing Dunes”. Here you will have an opportunity to ride two humped Bacterian camels. Stay overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 6. Bayanzag (Flaming Cliffs)
Approximate distance covered and estimated travel time: 170 km, 4-5 hours.
Travel to Bayan Zag, more commonly known as the legendary “Flaming Cliffs”. It was here, on July 13, 1923 that Roy Chapman Andrews and his expedition team discovered the first nest of dinosaur eggs the world had ever seen. Stay overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 7. Ongi Temple
Approximate distance covered and estimated travel time: 140 km, 4-5 hours.
Travel to Ongi temple ruin. Hiking nearby Gobi mountain and along the area where the ruins are situated. Stay overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 8. Ruins of 12th Century Capital City Karakorum
Approximate distance covered and estimated travel time: 250 km, 5-6 hours.
Travel to Karakorum, ancient capital city of Great Mongolian Empire. Visit the oldest Monastery Erdene-Zuu built in 1586, with 108 stupas. Look around little town Karakorum and see historical tower on the hill. Optional horse riding is available in the evening. Stay overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 9. Tuvkhun Monastery
Approximate distance covered and estimated travel time: 70 km, 2-3 hours.
We continue our journey to Tuvkhun Monastery. In the afternoon we make a 2 km trek to Tuvkhun monastery, called Nord Utai, located on a mountain 2,400m above sea level. Here we enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the scenery and visit the caves located around the monastery. Stay overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 10. Tsenkher Hot Spa
Approximate distance covered and estimated travel time: 150 km, 5-6 hours.
Drive to Tsenkher soum, Arkhangai province. We will relax at the Tsenkher Hot Spring, where the water flows out of the ground at a sizzling 89C (192.2F). Visit to Yak breeder’s family and experience the traditional customs and lifestyle of local residents. Stay overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 11. Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake
Approximate distance covered and estimated travel time: 200 km, 6-7 hours.
Travel to extinct volcano Khorgo National park. On the way visit to picturesque River Chuluut /Canyon/ and Taikhar Rock, is 25 meters high a misterious steepsided pinnacle of granite. We arrive in Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake, 20 km long which was formed by a dam of lava flows from volcanic eruption. Stay overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 12. Khorgo National Park
Full day trekking around Khorgo mountain, a dead volcano which lies east of the Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake.
The volcanic crater of the mountain is 200 meters wide and 100 meters deep. Stay overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 13. Zuun Lake
Approximate distance covered and estimated travel time: 150 km, 4-5 hours.
After breakfast, early morning drive to Shine-Ider soum, Huvsgul province. Reach the lake Zuun. Stay overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 14. Huvsgul Lake
Approximate distance covered and estimated travel time: 240 km, 6-7 hours.
Travel to Murun town, the center of Huvsgul province for 130 km. After lunch at local restaurant, continue travel to Huvsgul lake110km away from Murun. Lake Khuvsgul is Mongolia's largest lake and the largest tributary stream of Lake Baikal in neighbouring Siberia. The deepest lake in Central Asia and the world's 14th largest source of fresh water, Lake Khuvsgul is 1645m above sea level and frozen from January until April or May. Stay overnight in ger camp. Day 15. Huvsgul Lake
Today is a slow and gentle day in this glorious and enchanting environment. We visit a family of the nomadic Tsaatan (reindeer breeders) and you may, if you wish, go horse riding, swim or simply relax by the lake and soak up the special atmosphere. Stay overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 16. Murun town
Approximate distance covered and estimated travel time: 110 km, 3-4 hours.
Travel to Murun town. We will visit a famous site of deer stones in Uushig. Stay overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 17. Uran Mountain
Approximate distance covered and estimated travel time: 290 km, 7-8 hours.
Travel to Uran Mountain, an extinct volcano with a crater of 600 meter wide and 50 meter deep. Hiking and trekking nearby beauty volcanic mountain Uran. Stay overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 18. Amarbayasgalant monastery
Approximate distance covered and estimated travel time: 220 km, 5-6 hours.
Travel to Amarbayasgalant monastery, the biggest Buddhist center in Northern Mongolia which was built in 1736 by the order of the King of Qin Dynasty. Visit to Amarbayasgalant monastery. Stay overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 19. Ulaanbaatar
Approximate distance covered and estimated travel time: 340 km, 6-7 hours.
Travel to Ulaanbaatar. Shopping for souvenirs and cashmere is optional. Farewell dinner. Overnight in hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 20. Departure
After breakfast, transfer to departure (B)
